On December 9 to 15, Mindanao filmmakers will showcase their works at the 11th Mindanao Film Festival. A total of 37 short films will be competing for the much coveted Eagle trophies. The number of films is smaller this year because a stricter screening process was put into effect.

“The films this year will be curated to give the viewers value for their money,” festival director Rudolph Alama said. This year’s ticket price is set at 135.00 per block. Proceeds go to the filmmakers and the Mindanao Film and Television Development Foundation’s various projects such as filmmaking workshops.

The festival committee is urging the academe to support local cinema as a way to bridge the gap in film literacy. Below are the description of the different blocks.
